Learn Easy Subjects First

It might be confusing between which subject you should study first. Try to pick an easy subject. Easy subject takes very less time. It boosts up your confidence as well as develop your long lost study habit. When you have mastered the easy topics or subjects then, you can opt for hard subjects. On the other hand, for some people it can be vice versa.

Make Flashcards

If, I have to name a classic study tool i would say, Flash cards. Flash cards is a great aid for learning. You can prepare as many flash cards as you want for each subject and use them for active recall. For instance, if you've recently learnt a chapter, make small cards that have some questions related to the topic, shuffle these cards and choose any one card. Now, try to answer the question and speak it aloud.

Add Colors/Diagrams To Notes

When we get into higher classes, studying becomes boring as the topics are vast and our curriculum books have very less to no colors. While making notes next time, keep in mind to put more colors (like using highlighters) or add diagrams and small drawings to have a visual representation of the subject matter. Doing this not only promotes interest in study but also help you to memorize the topic better. During the exam if you somehow forget some details, the diagram or colors on your notes will help you remember the answer. But just a few days before exam don't spend too much time coloring or decorating your notes.

Make A Realistic Study Schedule

Have you ever made a study schedule before exam? Did you follow it? Maybe for one or two day. Making a study schedule that you really work on is an effective way to revise before exam. This is one of the best ways to revise before exam.

Practice Past Papers

Do not ever rely only on learning and not practicing. This is one major factor that most of the students do not generally focus on. If you practice some previous papers before exam it'll help to give you insight regarding what topics you really know well and which topics you need to focus on. You can also get idea of the paper pattern. You can use past papers, sample questions, or online tests to test yourself.

Have A Designed Space For Study

This should have been on the very first of the list, but anyways let's talk about it now. Have you ever wondered why artists have their own personal space? It's because they don’t want to have any distractions. In order to memorize things way better, you should have a clear space for study where all your books, stationery, sheets, previous year papers and a watch should be present.

Take Small Breaks

Various studies have shown that taking breaks in between any tasks restores the energy as well as increase focus of an individual. So, when you study for 50 minutes take a break of 10-20 minutes to freshen up. Set a timer for your break and when the break is over, go back to study again. You should also choose the right activity for break like going for a walk, cooking a healthy meal, doing some art or craft, taking a quick shower or meditate. After some long sessions, take a longer study break of 15 to 30 minutes.
